GRANITE

Granite is an igneous plutonic rock, which during its development was melted volcanic lava, but unlike the lava, never reached the surface. This molten rock slowly cooled and crystallized without going outside, forming a very uniform speckled stone. Essential recognition characteristics for granites are the randomness of the mineral grains and the compact structure, once there are almost no recognizable cavities. The natural appeal of the stone, with its textured, gently-hued beauty, is unsurpassed by almost any other material.

Granite resists heat, scratches, and stains protects against mould and mildew. Granite offers an impenetrable surface from which bacteria can be easily cleaned and it is typically not affected by citric acid, coffee, tea, alcohol, or wine. It is also nearly impossible to scratch, and with proper cleaning, will not stain under normal use. Come visit us at the Kitchen design studio to choose yours.
